For over two decades, I have been creating and designing art and textiles, specializing in printmaking.
I hand-print my art and designs onto pure silk fabrics to create extraordinary one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces.
My creative process begins with forming an image, which is a fusion of my original drawings and carefully curated collages.
The detailed process of creating an image can span up to four months, as I strive for harmony in every detail. Once the image is finalized, I carefully deconstruct it to prepare for the transfer onto silk screens. The number of screens required varies depending on the complexity of the design, ranging from two to over twenty screens.
Each print is hand-pulled onto the finest quality silk fabrics, ensuring a luxurious and unique end product. I prioritize the use of sustainable silk in my creations, pure fabrics are extremely important to me as they are not damaging the environment and support sustainable practices and communities. Working with silk is a true passion of mine, as it has a unique ability to vividly capture the essence of color more than any other material and I love silk screening because it allows me to create incredibly sharp images that cannot be achieved through painting on silk. I use a variety of colors and metallic dyes that are all non-toxic and AZO-free. Each print is one-of-a-kind, as I never repeat the same colors on any design per collection. To ensure the longevity of my prints, I steam the silk fabric for over 3 hours to set the colors, allowing them to be hand washed without any bleeding.
The next step involves cutting and sewing to create clothing that emphasizes the bias, resulting in a natural drape that enhances the beauty and elegance of every body type. I firmly believe in the principle that "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication," which guides my art, my printing techniques and garment construction.
The outcome of my work is a collection of extraordinary, bold, and vibrant wearable art pieces that I take great pride in creating. I pour my heart into every piece, and I hope that you will appreciate and cherish them as much as I do.
